"One’s mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions."
Welcome
Thank you for visiting my ePortfolio! My name is Daniel Rawlinson, and I am an Associate of Art degree student at South Piedmont Community College (SPCC). This website presents several aspects of my personal, academic, and professional growth. You may find information about my personal life and aspirations in introduction and goals, an overview of my academic progression in core skills, program outcomes, and additional educational experiences, as well an overview of my professional skills in my resume.
The theme for this ePortfolio is encompassed in the phrase "Curiosity Fuels Growth." As a dual-enrolled student, my learning journey at SPCC began with curiosity; that is, curiosity about the world, my interests, and the many opportunities which lie ahead. This curiosity has fueled my continued pursuit of learning during my time at SPCC, both inside and outside the classroom. Furthermore, this theme encompasses my belief that authentic development, whether personal or academic, is driven by a positive learning attitude. You will see this ePortfolio's theme evidenced in several different ways, including relevant quotes, scenic images depicting nature, and an earthy color palette, which reflects the idea of organic growth.
Located in the header menu, you will find the main pages, as well as their respective sub-pages, which comprise my ePortfolio. The menu begins with an introduction about myself and an overview of my short- and long-term goals, followed by a detailed set of subpages about my core skills. These include both written & oral communication skills, as well as other important employability skills such as critical thinking, intercultural competency, and information literacy. Subsequently, you will discover the program outcomes page, which outlines the combination of soft and technical skills that I have gained through course-specific work. These include my ability to generate creative solutions to problems, my capacity to clearly communicate, my understanding of social-scientific issues, and appreciation of the arts and the human experience. Because not all learning is done in the classroom, the second last menu, additional educational experiences, describes valuable learning experiences I have had embraced through personal curiosity. The last menu contains my resume, which serves as the final summary of my educational, work, and professional achievements.
It is my hope that my journey gives you the courage to be curious. Thank you again for visiting my ePortfolio!
